Everyone has a clique, and a lot of the
brands we know are no different.
Microsoft, Apple, RIM, Sony and Ericsson are a
part of the consortium “Rockstar” and they own a bunch of patents which were
gained from the dissolving of Nortel in 2009.
They have been hitting at the now popular Google, specifically Google’s
bread and butter “Search” feature.
Google is defending their OS and Nexus devices did a “declaratory judgment of non-infringement”, in addition they pointed a finger at Rockstar for “trolling”. Basically they are saying Rockstar has a bunch of people sitting around stalking any company’s products hoping to find anything they can use to sue their competitors. Google has gripes that Rockstar is interfering with their business relationships, ie. Discouraging companies form working with Google.
